Bailey House Auction Keeps New Yorkers Warm

[All photos by Jonathon Ziegler for PMc] Despite the horrible weather in New York last night, people bundled up and barreled through the snow to get to the Bailey House Auction at the Roseland Ballroom. Although the annual event is hosted by Tim Gunn and Simon Doonan, Gunn was unable to attend because his flight was delayed in Florida.

The Bailey House Auction and Party benefits men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS by raising money through silent and live auctions. This year the items being bid on were paintings, photography, furniture, shopping sprees, vacations, tickets to sports events and concerts, etc.

The crowd is typically made up of an eclectic group, from business men, to downtown hipsters, to press and photographers. Last night was no different. All the guests are fashion insiders, in their own right, and come dressed in their best. One man, Fantasia, was dressed in a long velvet cloak and a king's crown. Others preferred to wear their fur, little black dresses, or skinny jeans.

The Roseland Ballroom had a full bar set up, with lots of drinks and food. Also, included for guests to indulge in was a Ben & Jerry's ice cream station. This is where I would have spent my night.

Guests, which included Robert Verdi, Tracy Reese, and Amy Fine Collins, drank, mingled, and stayed warm by warming their hearts through charitable donations.
