The Bar Reception
At 8:00 p.m., the Guggenheim opened their first floor bar, and the patrons flocked like painters to canvas. The bar, conveniently located under the giant taxidermied horse, provided a nice break for “Last Word” audience members looking for a breath of fresh air—or a fresh drink—from the nearly eight hours of continuous presentations. Guests sipped wine, beer, and cocktails and munched on complimentary hors d’oeuvres while mingling with artists and gazing up at Cattelan’s dangling display. Meanwhile, cold onlookers watched in heated envy from the long line still snaking out the door.
