Sina Najafi and Simon Critchley, Apocalypses

Sina Najafi and Simon Critchley, Apocalypses
Wearing billboards reading "THE END IS NEAR" and "THE END IS HERE," writers Sina Najafi and Simon Critchley presented a world history of false apocalypses.  Did you know that on February 1, 1524, a flood was forecasted that would destroy the world?  One alarmed nobleman even built a 3-story arc in preparation (and it didn't even rain that day).  Or that the next apocalypse is predicted for December 21, 2012?  "The good news is, you don't have to buy any more Christmas presents," quipped Mr. Najafi. Their doomsday timeline, peppered with wry humor, proved the endless, and timeless, human fascination with the end of days. [Sina Najafi, Simon Critchley]
