Items were curated from overflowing wardrobes and high heels strapped on tight as fashion types hit the pavement yesterday to attend the city's most stylish events. Lucky Magazine held a conference for bloggers, Refinery29 held its Fashion Week kick off and Mimi Plange showcased her collection. Let's see what everyone was wearing, shall we?
FABB: Lucky Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference

Lucky Mag brought out the fashion and beauty bloggers for this Social Media Week conference. Attendees participated in panels and demos from Google, Tumblr, Foursquare and start-ups like Fashism and StyleTrek. The three major panels: Big Brands and You (working with major retailers), The First 10,000 People Are Everything (about crowd sourcing and SEO), Be Everywhere All The Time (about being multi-platform as well as emerging social media platforms) and The Ones To Follow (top bloggers share their secrets to success).
GofG's guest blogger Joelle Boucai was on hand to report: Joan Rivers Rivers burst in the room at lunchtime, Chardonnay in hand, proclaiming “All I give a shit about is that you tweet to watch me and Melissa on WE TV tonight at 9pm". She uses Twitter (follow her!) and is a big proponent, saying the platform “is the only place [she] can truly say what [she] wants to say”. Her advice to the crowd was more about being tenacious, banging down doors and creating opportunity than it was about best SEO practices.

All the plugged in fashion types head to The Jimmy at the James Hotel last night to celebrate style with Refinery29.com. Topics of the night were Fashion Week, Fashion Week, and Fashion Week as guests revved up for the tents and endless runway shows with a few drinks.

Mimi Plange, formerly Boudoir D’huitres, showed off her collection “Scarred Perfection" with a runway show at 320 Studios. Reds and deep jewel tones dominated as models walked down the runway with hair pulled back and rustic orange eyeshadow. Andre Leon Talley so heads up for the Vogue spread.
