Revered artist Julian Schnabel, dressed in a blazer over his signature pajamas, also made sure to indulge in the sushi rolls and sake. The eclectic crowd also featured Questlove, who was impossible to miss sporting his unmistakable afro. Martha Stewart, artist Richard Phillips, and Coolhunting's Josh Rubin were all engaged in conversation with friends. Carlos Quirarte took a minute to address the crowd and introduce several speakers to say a few words about the restaurant. Martha Stewart talked about having such a wonderful restaurant in the neighborhood, while founder Reika Yo was gleaming with both pride in her establishment as well as gratitude for all the people who visited the restaurant. Schnabel also commandingly managed to quiet down the crowd, and expressed his appreciation for having a truly authentic restaurant, with authentic people behind it. Following the speakers, musician Laurie Anderson performed a unique set on the violin in her typical experimental fashion. Artist Nate Lowman followed with an all-vinyl DJ set for the rest of the night, as guests continued to revel in EN's impeccable cuisine.
