Last week, some of New York society's most notable names and dedicated donors stepped out for the New York Philharmonic’s annual Spring Gala.

Forever my favorite event of the season, this year's affair did not disappoint. With a mature age demographic in attendance, the evening's style scene was an exciting mix of prim and proper meets daring and artsy. A room full of gracefully pulled together women you'd dream to grow into. Bold, statement necklaces, matching coat and dress sets, mild bouffants, and elegant silhouettes. Every outfit a piece of that person's actual wardrobe, not a loan for the evening to be sent back to the designer's press office after they've Instagrammed it. Ahem. All I'm saying is, millennials could learn a thing or two.

Following a charming champagne reception in David Geffen Hall, the well dressed crowd was treated to the musical stylings of Patti LuPone. It's been eight years since the icon had last performed with the Philharmonic, and Ms. LuPone definitely brought the big guns, belting out songs from some of her most beloved, award-winning Broadway roles including Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, Everything’s Coming Up Roses, and The Ladies Who Lunch.

Many encores, applause breaks and standing ovations later, guests took their seats at a floral inspired dinner. With the event raising more than $1 million for the beloved New York cultural institution, all was quite a success.
