Students crowded The Thompson for NYU Local's Young Media afterparty. NYU Local is a student run blog featuring conversational posts about what's happening in the world and at New York University. The Young Media Weekend hosted a panel of various internet bloggers and journalists who discussed the pros, the cons, and ways to survive in the media realm.
NYU's Silver Center hosted writers from New York Mag, The Village Voice, Esquire, The New York Observer, and various colleges and universities. Most of of the advice centered on the-do-it-yourself notion of networking, not paying a hefty fee for journalism school, and writing a lot. Check out some of the photos from the Thompson after party.
