Think of every famous woman who has influenced modern feminism. Chances are they were at Spring Studios on Tuesday, getting down at Planned Parenthood's annual spring gala. The theme of the pink-tinted evening was, fittingly enough, "Spring Into Action," with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Chloe Sevigny, Jessica Williams, Uma Thurman, and Molly Ringwald all in attendance - ready to fight the good fight alongside the 101-year-old organization.

With new President and CEO Laura McQuade at the helm, the fundraising festivities honored departing Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards and actor and activist Laverne Cox.

"It was an honor to be among so many champions for Planned Parenthood and reproductive rights at the Planned Parenthood of New York City Gala," Richards said at the podium. "Each year, 2.4 million patients walk through the doors of Planned Parenthood health centers across our country and get the care and support they need — and the care every person deserves. One in five women in America has been to Planned Parenthood, and despite the attacks from the Trump-Pence administration and anti-woman politicians around the country, women are persisting, people are resisting, and today, Planned Parenthood is stronger than we've ever been."

While attendees recognized the sobering importance of supporting Planned Parenthood, the night was filled with empowering excitement - and a whole lot of fun. After dinner, guests danced the night away at a raucous after-party, proving that spirit stays alive even in times of trouble.
