Sud De France hosted a tasting table at The Smile on Sunday night. The second installment of the five-feast Sud de France Tasting Tables was a personal take on Languedoc-Roussillon specialties by Chef Melia Marden. The four-course menu featured dishes such as baked stuffed zucchini blossoms, orange saffron seafood stew with roasted sweet pepper crostini, and an Apricot-Lavender tart. The meal was paired with Languedoc-Roussilon wines, and music included a two-piece jazz band playing down-tempo gypsy jazz and early swing music.
Guests included Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, DJ Chris Holmes of The Embassy, and other foodies including the members of Le Fooding, Matt Kliegman, owner of The Smile and Westway, and Gabe Ulla of Eater NY.
