Last night, chefs Emeril Lagasse and Marc Forgione celebrated and shared the recipes they love to prepare for the holidays in “The Macy’s Culinary Council Thanksgiving & Holiday Cookbook” at the cookbook's release party at Chelsea Market yesterday.
With Halloween almost exactly a month away, chances are you’re still deciding just how crazy-eyed you want to make your Michele Bachmann costume, not whether you’ll be serving Marc Forgione’s turkey leg roulade or Emeril Lagasse’s organic-chicken breakfast sausage patties for Turkey Day. But the folks over at Macy’s marketing team are already hard at work promoting all things Thanksgiving, from their 85th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade to the merchandise blitz that accompanies it. Last night, they invited Emeril and Marc, two chefs honored with spots on “The Macy’s Culinary Council”—and endowed with recipe spots in Macy’s first-ever “Thanksgiving & Holiday Cookbook”—to an event celebrating the book launch.
The book is filled with more than 80 recipes from Macy’s Culinary Council’s team of acclaimed chefs and also includes a commemorative overview of the of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with special behind-the-scenes stories and photos from the annual event, in celebration of its 85th year as a staple of the holiday season.
