Kaitlin Roig-Debellis
After saving her students' lives during the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school, Kaitlin Roig-Debellis was inspired by her experience.
When speaking about the shooting Roig-Debellis stated,
"I have lived my life so as not to let that day define myself — or my students."
The teacher launched a non-profit organization called Classes 4 Classses which aims to teach students the significance of generosity by sponsoring educational gifts for classes in need.
When explaining her mission, Roig-Debellis stated,
"When you teach kindness, love, and empathy, there is no room for hate."
