'Tis The Season For Internet People To Party

by guestofaguest · December 21, 2010

Proving that the tech scene is full of party animals, social butterfly VC Fred Wilson and the always Interneting Rachel Sklar joined forces for a charitable bacchanal at Merc Bar. How did it compare to 36 Cooper's recent rager? Let's take a look!

Foursquare's Naveen Selvadurai made an appearance, as did Cubred's Lockhart Steele and Hard Candy Shell's Dan Maccarone. The former host committee was intact. But since the party benefited Wilson's Donor's Choose fundraiser, guests kept the dirty dancing to a minimum. It was no small feat with iPad DJ Rana Sobhany spinning and an open bar.

Social Media Week and South By South West are both coming up in the first quarter of 2011 so there's no end in sight for long nights out among the tech set. We keep hearing that start-up founders are the new bankers but socialites might be a more apt comparison. The flexible schedules and snapping iPhone cameras among this group give them both the time and means for high-profile partying.
