Last night, young professionals gathered at the Empire Hotel on a beautiful summer night to celebrate the Special Olympics with a summer social. This is the second year that the Young Professional Committee has hosted this event, this time on the roof of the hotel, making for a beautiful scenery.
The Special Olympics supplies children and adults with intellectual disabilities opportunities to participate in sports through coaching and competitions. A silent auction was held including a vacation for two to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mets tickets and even a Stuart Weitzman purse. Guests did not seem to notice the sun's disappearance, they kept on socializing. A beautiful night for a great cause.
