The  Zelda Kaplan Birthday Benefit occurred last night at Upper East Side's Orsay. In addition to celebrating the her 94th birthday, the benefit raised money for the organization Keep a Child Alive, which provides support for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. New York's club kids united with Heatherette's Richie Rich in attendance.-

With 90 some years in her life, there were many family and friends there to help celebrate her birthday. Zelda Kaplan was obviously the center of event as seen through the photographs, pop art paintings, and black and white images featured in the venue. Although she is almost 100 years old, her young spirit was still able to reverberate throughout the party. Her sentimental toast brought smiles on the people's faces and a widespread applause.

It was no rager (as seen by the lack of DJ or fully stocked bar) but it was a night to commemorate the long and prosperous life of Zelda Kaplan and to raise money for a good cause.
