How The Fashion World Is Remembering Bill Cunningham This Week

by Stephanie Maida · September 11, 2016

It's our very first New York Fashion week without the master, the godfather of street style, Bill Cunningham. The entire style set mourned the loss of that discerning eye, his ever-present bike, and that standout blue jacket this summer. But no one here is forgetting him. This season, photographers paid tribute to their predecessor on opening day at Moynihan Station, as IMG provided the pit with blue workman's jackets modeled after the one Bill made so famous.

Bryant Park also hosted a touching memorial event, with chairs arranged to look like his 35-mm camera, the backs of which were draped with his signature outerwear.

Fashion Week will never be the same, but at least Bill lives on at the tents.
