Tell me about the journey that your girl is on. Where is she coming from? Where is she going? And more importantly, where is she now?
This season is inspired by the 1970’s movie from Bernardo Bertolucci, The Conformist, which is really a masterpiece - one of my favorites. It captures two female characters from the 1930s fascist era, so basically my whole collection revolves around these two girls. One is like a super classic Italian beauty and the other one is modern French woman, more androgynous. And she represents a change toward the modern era. This is the ambiance, and the graphics and details of the collection were inspired by the architecture of the 1930s, specifically in the fascist era. Then there’s an end to the collection which is very glamorous but in a really modern way – you see this beautiful paisley and stardust embroidery but it’s used on a modern composition of military coats and outerwear pieces. It’s a very bold collection. This woman, compared to previous seasons is a little more dangerous; less innocent.
