Philipp Plein Scammed Out Of $900,000 By A Fake Kanye West

Uh oh, there's a hip hop version of Anna Delvey on the loose!

If you've been following our Fashion Week coverage, you may have heard about Philipp Plein's buzzed-about dinner show set to be held at The Pool this Monday. When the invites went out, they boasted a "special performance by Kanye West." Seemed (sort of) legit, considering Plein's shows are always massive blowouts featuring A-list celebs and musical guests. Nevertheless, whispers among the style set emphasized how odd it seemed that Kanye would be performing at... a fashion show.

Indeed, it was too good to be true. A fact that just cost Plein nearly one million dollars.

On Wednesday, Kim Kardashian shut down the rumor that her husband would be performing on Twitter.

And today, TMZ revealed exactly what went down. Turns out a "former friend and associate of G.O.O.D. Music" reached out to the designer, posing as West's rep, offering to arrange a seven-figure deal to have him perform at the show. The scammer then forged West's signature on the contract and had Plein wire a $900,000 advance to a bank account, which, of course, was promptly cleaned out.

According to Page Six, West will be pursuing legal action and Plein's reps have yet to comment.

Guess they're going to have to find a new headliner for Monday. May we suggest Philipp Plein regular, Tiffany Trump?
