Prabal Gurung After Party Sponsored by Belvedere and Chandon
When: Saturday, September 9 Where: Chez André, The Standard East Village Who was there: Prabal Gurung, Mia Moretti, Kristian Laliberte, Hilary Rhoda, Brian Atwood, Andrej Pejic, Irina Lazareanu, Roopal Patel, Monique Péan, Jodie Synder, Danielle Snyder, Barbara Bush and Maggie Betts. Details: Chez André, the new subterranean lounge in the basement of The Standard East Village, may only be open for 22 days, but so far, they've been making the best of the fleeting days. After an opening party earlier in the week, where Glen O'Brien showed off his karaoke skills, the fashion-set returned to the basement lounge, which is operated by André Saraiva and André Balazs and decorated with Saraiva's graffiti artwork, to celebrate Prabal Gurung's spring show. The party attracted a wide range of guests, but perhaps most surprising was President George Bush's daughter, Barbara Bush, though her twin sister, Jenna was no where in sight. Details: Still celebrating the opening of their Madison Avenue store and also their successful runway show, Proenza's after party was the perfect way to kick off a long week ahead. At Irving Plaza, Ariel Pink took to the stage to serenade the crowd, and a red light shone down on to partygoers as they enjoyed Ariel Pink's performance and later a DJ set by Harley Viera-Newton. The venue's upstairs balcony was turned into a VIP lounge for the evening, and J. Crew creative director, who split with her husband of nine years about 14 months ago, made a rare public appearance with her rumored girlfriend, Courtney Crangi.
