Minimalism Officially Dead With Launch Of Two New Jewelry Collections, Just In Time For Summer

by Cary Randolph Fuller · April 13, 2010

Summer will be here before we know it - and with it will come lots of opportunities to show off fresh sun dresses, jewelry, other elements of seasonal style. Getting us revved up in the ice category are a pair of local jewelry designers who will keep us looking hot from here to the Hamptons and back again.-

Cassie King is a bright young San Antonian who recently moved to NYC to launch a jewelry line. CassandraCollections features delicate gold pieces and big ol' cocktail rings befitting any Texas socialite worth her ten-gallon hat. The Kardashian girls have been known to sport the gems, and now in-the-know New Yorkers will too.

Judging from Facebook photos Cassie's style is clean, bright, and preppy. Her clothes yield the spotlight to those pretty gems, as seen below (with Tim Hudson and Frances Ryburn).

Cassie is already proving her skill as a Manhattan-based designer - this Friday she'll celebrate her own talents with a party showcasing those rocks and bursting with her socialite friends. Among the many expected to make an appearance are fellow Style Philer John Munson, girl-about-town (and fellow SMU alumna) Alexandra Vickers, and everyone's favorite reality show mess Jules Kirby.

Dana Lorenz is the talent behind up-and-coming accessory lines Fenton and Fallon, and tonight she will celebrate her new collaboration with J. Crew. Fenton-Fallon for J. Crew is the opposite of CassandraCollections: the pieces are tough rock 'n roll rather than delicate. This is jewelry that stays out way past its bedtime. Staying true to the aesthetic Dana rocks a minimal look, letting her accessories do the talking against a canvas of black and white. The resulting look is chic, cool, and not to be messed with.
