Crif Dogs
Advertised as "NYC's Number 1 Weiner," Crif Dogs never fails to please. The hot dog restaurant turned food truck was originally opened in 1990 by childhood friends Brian Shebairo and Chris Antista. The truck's name has sparked curiosity among its customers - the owners came up with the name when Brian tried to say his partner's name while stuffing his face with a hot dog (hilarious but true). Each of the hot dogs on the menu are deep fried, and most are wrapped in bacon. This is as gourmet as NYC hot dogs get!
What to order: The Spicy Redneck - a house dog wrapped in bacon and chili, cole slaw, and jalapeños.
