France: Pot-Au-Feu

Pot-au-feu is "the quintessence of French family cuisine, it is the most celebrated dish in France. It honors the tables of the rich and poor alike," says Chef Raymond Blanc. This beef stew - literally translating to pot on the fire - is traditionally cooked on, you guessed it, a fire. The ingredients vary but it typically contains a combination of beef, vegetables, and spices.
