Harriman Cup 2016
What: Grab your friends and train or chopper out to the 32nd Annual Harriman Cup. Friendly folks feature their finery to witness the excitement of the Sport of Kings while sipping and strolling the sidelines. Prizes are awarded for Best Dressed and Best Tailgate. After the match, the tent comes alive with the beat of a DJ, spinning until dark. The Harriman Cup is an annual fundraiser and alumni polo match between the University of Virginia and Yale that takes place at Bethpage State Park, which is the home of Polo at the Park. For over 3 decades, the Harriman Cup has commemorated the life of diplomat, polo player, and former New York Governor Averell Harriman. The Harriman Cup is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of polo and supporting the collegiate polo programs at Yale and UVa. The organization has raised over $1 million for the schools’ undergraduate polo teams.
