Why: An evening reception and special preview for the opening of New-York Historical Society’s summer exhibition Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans. The exhibition will premiere at the New-York Historical Society and will honor the plucky Parisian schoolgirl and her creator in the first exhibition devoted to the artist in more than 50 years. Special guests include: Louise Mirrer, John Bemelmans Marciano, Jane Bayard Curley, Maria Kalman, William Beekman, Susan Danilow, Elizabeth Dubbs, Judi Flom, Ira Millstein Frances Resheske, Gideon Rothschild, Lisa Somar, Megan White and more.
