Beat the Heat at Barraca

What: Add to the excitement of summer by hitting Barraca for a plate of free paella with the purchase of each glass of wine, house infused sangria or one of their specialty cocktails. Beverage director Gonzalo Marín is mixing five cocktail versions of sangria in honor of the season. Two must haves include the recent New York Times featured Compostela, an herbal sangria with albariño, sake, lemon grass and apple-rosemary purée, and the Penedes, a "Spanish Bellini" of sorts with cava, peaches and lavender. Executive Chef Jesús Núñez will be preparing a variety of paella styles throughout the summer extravaganza. Ranging from the light and summery Paella de Mariscos with shrimp, clams, mussels, swordfish and squid, to Barraca's house paella, Paella de Tierra, a delectable array of rabbit, pork belly and pork ribs, string beans and fava beans.
