Hosen Nakamura Solo Exhibition When: Thu, July 2,6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Where: 109 Norfolk Street, New York, NY 10002 Why: Check out this special solo exhibition by Japanese calligrapher, Hosen Nakamura, showcasing exquisite works of calligraphy that she incorporates Japanese spirit called WA (harmony). Her works has mood of Heian period which was the last division of classical Japanese history, considered the peak of the Japanese imperial court and noted for its art, especially poetry and literature. The letter has varieties of size, chiaroscuro of India ink has own rhythm, and words are just like the water flow smoothly runs. Free sake and sushi will be served during an opening reception. Nakamura’s exhibition is a part of “Japan Move,” a cultural exchange project between U.S.A. and Japan to promote Japanese cultural experiences through the exhibitions and events in U.S.A.
