"Tonight's Playground" Your Guide On Where To Be Tonight

by Rachelle Hruska · May 12, 2009

Do you feel out of the loop? Even though our calendar, (which is always stocked full of the best events in NYC each night, is up for you to gaze at daily); I realize that many of you would just like it spelled out in big letters: "THESE ARE THE BEST OPTIONS TONIGHT" sort of thing. So, here are my picks for tonight:

Film Benefit Party for film "Followed" with Liam McMullan Where: Hudson Terrace Why: Because Liam is going to be famous some day. Don't you want to be able to say "I was there when..?" Also, this venue just opened and is still HOT! Suggested donation of $35 is all you need to get in. When:7pm-11pm

The Launch of Trust Art Where: The Norwood Club Why: Fame Theory, an off-shoot of FameGame.com have this really cool thing started called "Trust Art." They are trying to support local art projects and so should you. Cost to enter: $101. When:7pm-11pm

The "Welcome to Gulu" Exhibition and Benefit Art Sale Where: United Nations Note: INVITE ONLY Why: Committee members include Anna & Graydon Carter, Chuck Close, Calvin Klein, and Russell Simmons just to name a few. If you can afford the $5,000 ticket price this is the party of the night for you. Paintings by former child soldiers and abducted girls will be auctioned. When: 6pm-9pm

"Celebration of Life Spring Benefit" American Cancer Society Where:The St. Regis Roof Why: This is the American Cancer Society's main black tie fund-raiser. There will be dinner, dancing and Neil Sedaka as well as Scott Hamilton. This is probably a great event to meet your future Mrs...that is if she can afford the minimum ticket at $600. When:7pm-10pm

"12 Instances Reception" Where: Heist Gallery Why: Talia Eisenburg's Heist Gallery is one of my favorites in NYC, and not because she is a friend. You won't forget the unique experience. When: 7pm-9pm

"Seven Deadly Sins" Where: Griffin Nightclub Why: Now's your chance to check out the newest nightclub that everyone's been talking about. Bypass the weekend crowds and get in there with the best of the best. When: 9pm-2am

More information on these and all other events tonight can, as always, be found in our calendar!
