"It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to procure inspiration and insight.”
What were some of the most exciting things that have happened to you since you started?
Leandra: “Well press wise, the New York Times profiled me about six months after I launched, so that was very exciting – I had like a half page feature in Sunday styles – it was really awesome, and then Time Magazine named me this year one of the top 25 blogs, not just fashion, of 2012 which was also crazy.”
That’s incredible!
“It’s now about breaking over this line. I don’t want to be just a fashion blog anymore; I want to be a destination.”
If, in a perfect world, everything happened as you wanted it to, what would Manrepeller be in, say five years?
“It would be sort of in the same vein of a Jezebel type site, I really want it to become this place, this destination where women come to feel good about themselves. I want them to be able to take inspiration, not just from fashion, but from really good life advice from people that are like them. I think what Tavi (Gevinson) has done with Style Rookie is so honorable and impressive, she’s really turned it into it’s own enterprise, and that is definitely something I want to have happen for Manrepeller. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to procure inspiration and insight.”
