NYC Hospitality Innovator Sponsored By Heineken: The Wythe Hotel's Peter Lawrence, Encouraging Us To Wake Up In Williamsburg

This was, to us, the most innovative thing happening in hospitality in NYC this year. You brought this sort of new glam to Williamsburg. You must have brought loads of business to the place. I’m curious as to what the response was from the neighborhood? Peter: “The neighborhood’s been lovely. There are lots of small robust businesses here that were doing just fine without us arriving, but we have certainly created a bunch of extra traffic that I know is filtering into lots of those little businesses especially the retail ones. The neighborhood has been overwhelmingly positive in their response, which is lovely because this neighborhood is particular and they have high expectations, they have high standards, they’ve been here for a long time and feel a strong sense of ownership and pride in the neighborhood.”
