How do you go about setting your table?
Once I have a concept in mind, I research it everywhere from movies to fashion to art. I use visual inspiration to create a mood board and then start sourcing table accoutrements. I look for elements of various heights, weights, colors to decorate the table.
After laying the tablecloth or table covering, I make all of the place settings, this way, I know how much room I have for decoration. I play with the centerpiece elements (plants, sculptures, fruits, candies) until everything looks just right. And the absolute last thing I do is put guests' names down on menus or place cards - there is always a last minute surprise with who's attending.
