The Nathaniel Manual focuses on sustainable & eco-friendly fashion. When did you first discover your passion for highlighting that particular part of the industry?
My high school boyfriend’s sister is the one that really highlighted this for me. She lived in California and went to UC Davis to work on an agricultural degree around organic foods. She and I would sit around and geek out over that documentary about the food industry and how horrible GMOs are. We started talking about what I wanted to do with my life and I told her I imagined one day I would have my own fashion line or company. She asked me, “What if it was all organic?” And that was it. Ever since then I’ve found a real appreciation and obsession for sustainably made things and eco-friendly fashion. To me it helps bring light to a subject that lives in the shadows.
