2. Alaska
This state is so isolated we sometimes forget it's part of the U.S. (sorry Alaskans), but that doesn't take away from the fact that the folks here are happy. Maybe isolation and frigid temps are key? TBH, we're pretty happy locked up in our apartments with Netflix come winter, so maybe they're on to something.
