If you want to step your profile up a notch, and maybe even grow your following; follow these #ProTips we've collected and steal the secrets of the perfect blogger Instagram.
Post quality pics frequently. There is no shame in posting 2+ pics a day, as long as they're different and spaced out through the day. Beware of dominating your follower's feed though, it might get you unfollowed.
Use editing apps, not default Instagram filters. Popular editing platforms include Faded, VSCO Cam, and Afterlight. Browse the app store and test out different ones to find that works for you!
Tag every brand, location, and nameable person in you photos to potentially draw new eyes. ("Tap for credits!")
Captions count! Humor is great, credits are too! Use minimal and meaningful hashtags, and put thought into what you have to say about your post, your followers are here for your voice and views! Bonus points for geotagging your location!
Take pics on a DSLR and #Latergram that ish for higher quality. The process of carrying around a huge lens and transferring the stills from SD card to camera roll may be a extensive, but if you value sharp images with great lighting, it makes a huge difference in definition! Is this insta-cheating? Oh well, it works. Do you.
Develop a theme that best reflects your lifestyle and taste and stick to it! It can be difficult to see the world through ultra-faded lenses, but if that's your style, go for it! Try out a few different types of schemes and subjects and go which what feels right for you.
Be yourself. Don't try to make your life seem any more glamourous or organic than it really is. Be as quirky and lighthearted as you want. This is your space to represent yourself through a camera lens. Trying to keep up a facade of what you think will get likes will get old quickly and posting will feel more like a chore than creative expression.
At the end of the day, remember, Instagram is an app. It can represent your life, but it should never
be your life. Have fun with it!
