“Who’s from Guest of a Guest?” Armie Hammer jovially inquired on the red carpet at last night’s National Board of Review Awards. The actor, who has met and plays our publisher Cameron Winklevoss and his brother Tyler in "The Social Network" got a little excited. How was it to play the twins?
“Great!” Hammer replied. “It was a complicated and challenging process that fortunately I didn’t have to go through alone.”
The unfairly attractive Hammer hails from unfairly attractive privilege: he’s the great-grandson of Armand Hammer, the oil tycoon. But he clearly doesn’t let success--inherited or earned--go to his head.
“It was an incredible honor to work with David [Fincher] and obviously to get to say Aaron Sorkin’s words,” he said. “If I’m ever that lucky again as an actor I will consider it a huge blessing that I probably don’t deserve.”
Recently married to the equally hot Elizabeth Chambers, a TV host and reporter, Hammer also offered some sage advice for nuptial bliss: “Enjoy the food at the wedding, because it will ground you and the rest of it will be easy.”
