What was the start of StyleLikeU like?
Lily: I was a freshman in college in 2007 and we had talked about how we wanted to capture the people we love and put it somewhere. So one day we took our Dad's old video camera and brought it to this girl Erica's house. I had worked with her at Marc by Marc Jacobs in LA.
Elisa: We were so inspired and empowered from the beginning with the first shoot with Erica. The little details about the way she embodied her clothes caught our eye. Her comfort in the clothes and the very expression of being exactly herself. She talked about how she loves her flat chested and how she embraced clothes that highlighted that.
We knew then that we were onto something. You give someone a platform that would never be given one otherwise and they say things that are so universal.
