Black Alley on their group dynamic
The first time I heard you and saw your chemistry with the audience, it reminded me of the Roots. Would you agree?Mack (keyboard): "We all like the Roots and it is an honor to be compared to them. However, they gained notoriety as mainly a hip-hop band. Their sound is influenced by DJs because in Philly, DJs were their thing. We are a little different. We took our sound a bit further through our Soul Garage genre. We are able to do rock, hip-hop, gogo, funk, soul, etc.... Traditionally since the 60s, DC music has been all about bands and live music. The band concept comes as second nature to us and thats why people can vibe with our live performances."
