Interview: Fashion Designer Cody Ross on NYFW
What is the premise of your label, PRIESTESS NYC?
PRIESTESS NYC is all about cosmopolitan and artisanal design. The label is about having fun, being rebellious and channeling an artistic and independent spirit.
So you’re not only a fashion designer but you’re also a frequent contributor to different magazines like Bullett and i-D. What prompted your interest in magazines and publishing?
I picked up i-D in my teens and never put it down. I’ve been obsessed with youth culture, art and fashion ever since. A few years back, I started writing stories for i-D (which I love and treat as a sacred text!). I also contribute to a bunch of avant-garde magazines and blogs like China Vogue, Bullett and Contra Mag. Writing is a wonderful modality to nurture and reinforce new concepts, and is a perfect way to introspect.
