Looking back at the process of your book, what was your inspiration and what do you want viewers to get from it?
Marianna Rothen: The book spans [about] 10 years, from the beginning of my study of women to my current work. My inspiration being films, I wanted it to be a slow evolution of a story so we laid it out like a Grimm's fairy tale. It’s all very tongue in cheek [and] comical.
Aside from your artwork, what’s a typical day for you?
MR: I wake up, do my hair then take my dog out because he’s always in a rush. I eat and then I start working. I work on my photos every day now.
