What inspired the launch of Fashion Photographers International?
I have been involved in buying, selling and exhibiting fashion photography since 1990, and have organized festivals in Japan in the 1990s. Over the last few decades the lines have been blurred between fashion photography done "for hire" i.e. commercial work, and work that can be classified as fine art. While there are many galleries showing fashion photography, there has not been to date one gallery expressly devoted to showcasing the history of fashion photography from its onset in the 1920s to today.
