You're familiar with the history of photography. How has the craft of fashion photography evolved since some of the earliest prints you've seen?Photography started in the studio with large studio cameras (Edward Steichen, Conde Nast) and the model was still. It then took to the out of doors with the hand held camera in 1930s (Martin Munkacsi) who could shoot a model "on the go" and the evolution has been moving (literally and figuratively ever since) to what is now the digital age, to where we cannot know if an image in a magazine (or anywhere) is actual represented recorded reality or fiction (Hence the recent brouhaha over the digitally altered images of Lena Dunham for Vogue Magazine which sought to make her more "slim" in the images).
