What advice do you have when it comes to balancing creative tasks (events, weddings, event planning), as well as the magazine world?

My advice for anyone is, just try to get your foot in the door somewhere that interests you, someplace where you think you can learn and grow—and then work really, really hard. Internships are always great because you get good experience, you meet people, and it might open a door to a future, full time position. I don’t think of weddings/events/planning as separate worlds apart from the magazine—today, I think you need to be interested in everything, and flexible. You must be willing to do “a little” of everything—tweet, blog, appear in videos or on TV, be out in the market, etc… Or should I say, “a lot of everything.” At the end of the day, find what you love to do, because if you do, it will never feel like work.
