What inspired you to start this project?
I always loved taking pictures of plus size models and have done a few body image awareness campaigns in the past four years. Every time the images were released they were pursued as shocking, which was always interesting to me because I think that there's nothing too crazy about a curvy, nude woman. Nudity and lingerie images are all over the place now, so I'm guessing that wasn't the shock factor, but rather the size of the models. I always read the comments on social media and listened to what people had to say about the images. The majority of the time the discussion was about which was better - skinny or plus size. I personally don't think that a size is what makes a woman beautiful. So I decided to show what beauty is to me - using images of women whom I adore and their own words to describe beauty. This book is a combination of images and stories - all of the women in the book share their personal view on beauty and what makes them see themselves as such.
