Speaking of music, how does the changing music culture affect nightlife? Electronic based concerts and festivals emulate club atmosphere.
JL: Well I think electronic music creates a real commercial environment so I don't think it necessarily affects what we do in nightlife. I think it actually pushes people who are looking for a little more integrity towards us. I think it creates an environment where people are trying to be a little more creative now. Electronic music will just become its own niche; everyone is chasing the integrity.
Tell me about some of the recent events at Goldbar. How was New Year's Eve?
SR: Super Busy. New Year's Eve is New Year's Eve. It was a busy party but everybody had a great time, and it was great to see people's reactions to the changes during the soft opening. The Knocks DJ'd, and we had a great response to the room.
