How did you get involved with the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition?
They found me honestly. A publication for the arts called Artslant wrote a piece on me and another artist. Katrina Jeffries is on the board of The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition. She read the article and fell in love with my story and how I came to painting. She immediately reached out to me and flew out to check my work. I was apprehensive. I didn’t want to share this with the world for quite some time. She convinced me, and here I am with a residency in New York City and an exhibit in a gallery that never did anything like this before. I’m the first artist of my generation and my color to invade this space the way I did.
