Fashion 2.0 Awards Interviews with Robert Verdi and Simon Doonan
Robert VerdiWhat categories are you most interested in? You know – I’m really interested in the videos. Coming from the world of television, it’s interesting to see how we use computers to access television. But I think too much thinking can stifle creativity. But in the on-demand world, advertising often gets lost because we can just skip ads. So I do wonder how brands can maintain the viewer from the first frame to the last without losing their interest. So, what’s next for Robert? Well, I’m in the middle passage – I’m 44. So I’m at a place where I need to make changes… It could be called a midlife crisis… I need to focus on doing things to make money while I’m asleep. Because if you’re only making money while your eyes are open, you’ll be poor forever! Especially if you spend all your money on designer fashion. Exactly, because otherwise – all I’ll have are bolts of fabric in my closet and no food in my fridge! So, I feel like that’s the next frontier for me. Expanding on HSN, going into other categories and really developing the brand based on whatever viewpoint I have acquired.
