A couple of weeks back we had a chance to see this amazing band, Apollo Heights, in Williamsburg. They played what I called shoegaze R+B. Swirling multi layered guitar parts with computer bass and drums, dreamy vocals and a groove James Brown would've been happy to have behind him. Needless to say I was pretty stoked to have seen them. After sleeping on their next show and wondering when I'd get the chance to partake in my next Apollo Heights experience. I got an email from one of the group's three guitarists, Carolyn, alerting me to the fact that they had a new video. Shallow by Shallow from their album White Music for Black People. Not sure but I think all the shallow stuff has something to do with My Bloody Valentine, which makes me love this group that much more, but maybe not. Either way the guitars are lean and muscular and the track is rather fresh. So check it out and of course support YO
