Commercial radio may be on its way out, but college radio is still holding strong. KEXP is known for giving promising new talent space on the airwaves. This now includes bandwidth on their channel, which is like the music portion of Kimmel or Fallon.
The University of Washington station has grown from its launch 40 years ago, spinning everything from alternative blues to hip-hop. The station is so plugged into the local music scene and signed a 30-year extension with the school. Here’s Kimbra performing “Plain Gold Ring” in session format - absolutely breathtaking.
