Last night's Arlo Guthrie concert in Battery Park for the River to River Festival looked pretty chill, but let's be honest here: the real party is going to be tonight's kick-off of the All Points West music festival at Liberty State Park. Jay-Z is headlining! (The Beastie Boys were supposed to, but Adam Yauch sadly came down with a wee bit of throat cancer.)
To browse more pictures of Guthrie's folksy performance titled "Four Nights of Peace, Love, & Music: A Castle Clinton Tribute to Woodstock," which intertwined personal anecdotes with mellifluous lyricism, check out our gallery here. Like all of the concerts in the River to River festival, Guthrie's concert was at least free: tickets to APW will run you $89 for a single-day pass and $239 for a three-day pass.
Other headliners at APW: Coldplay and Tool. And at River to River, there's Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band with Jenny Lewis; Chuck Brown; and a movie screening of West Side Story.
