The first New York Food Book Fair is coming to Brooklyn this May, and foodies and book lovers alike are rushing to buy their tickets.
The Fair, which will be held from May 4-May 6 at the soon-to-open Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, will include a number of panels on a range of food and literary topics.
The event's official site describes the Food Book Fair as,
"...the first ever event bringing together food publications from around the world alongside a dynamic set of events celebrating food writing, reading, and activism."
Grub Street has more details on the specifics, and recently released some of the topics of the panels, ranging from
"Food + Porn, examining whether we seek and consume images of food the same way we do pornography, to a session with Harold McGee on science and cooking."
In addition to these and other panels, Grub Street reports that
"Daniel Halpern, president of Ecco Press, will tackle the issue-of-the-moment: the role of ghostwriters in the cookbook world."
Tickets cost $215 for the entire weekend; $65 for a day; and $15 for individual events, but if you can't make it to Brooklyn this spring, you can still stay up-to-date on all the Food Book Fair action by following the event's Tumblr, Twitter, or Pinterest.
