Walking up the stairs into this place definitely gives off some top-secret covert operations vibes. The dude at the door is a little intense, but once inside it becomes a dark and sleek bar where everything is red, and portraits of presumably Russian men stare directly into your soul. Other than the high energy, the music is rad, and the NYU Creative Writing Department hosts their Emerging Writers Reading every Friday at 7 pm. Besides that, the KGB Bar also has it's very own literary magazine and hosts readings showcasing their talent as well.
