Electric Room
Overview: Despite celebrating its 2 year anniversary (an eternity in NYC) during Fashion Week last month, the Electric Room doesn't seem to have aged. Like its next door neighbor No.8, it only seems to be getting better. The rock n' roll vibe heralded by Nur Khan ensures the crowd is always interesting, and the roughly 80 person capacity keeps it a highly curated crowd. The black-lit Harif Guzman painting makes the tunnel one of the most unique and alluring entrances in the city. At any instance you'll find yourself sitting next to an actor or rock star, most of whom rarely use the VIP section behind the DJ booth. 2 years after its inception, Electric Room still remains one of the best late-night spots in the city, and will likely remain that way for years to come.
Location: 355 W 16th St (at Dream Downtown)
Team: Nur Khan
Insider's Scorecard: We've been to Electric Room after-parties more times than we can count; this NYFW alone it was host to Jason Wu's after-party, Vs. Magazine's issue launch, the Poplipps book launch after-party, and more. Its 2 year anniversary party was special since it took place on the ramp outside the club, but the comfortable couches and incredible weekly DJs are enough to regularly bring us inside.
